Laurence P. Chirch is a Partner at Sandelands Eyet LLP and has extensive experience litigating a broad range of matters in both state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York. His practice currently focuses upon the representation of financial institutions in complex commercial, real estate and consumer litigation, title claims and disputes, contested foreclosure actions and appeals. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the District of Washington, DC, the Southern, Eastern, Northern and Western Districts of New York, the District of Columbia and the Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Prior to joining Sandelands Eyet, Mr. Chirch served as counsel for various insurance carriers and their insureds in both litigated and non-litigated matters involving complex insurance coverage and contractual disputes. He has represented businesses in litigation involving allegations of construction defects, product liability, premises liability, contractual indemnification, breach of contract and consumer fraud and has also represented insurers with respect to coverage disputes arising out of such claims. Additionally, he has experience representing major title insurance underwriters with respect to coverage claims, as well as defending their insureds in title disputes.
Mr. Chirch earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law, along with an M.A. in International Affairs from the American University School of International Service. He obtained his B.A. in Government from Cornell University. After graduating from law school, he clerked for the Honorable Peter A. Buchsbaum, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division, Hunterdon County. He is an active member of the bar and is a Barrister in the Halpern-Furman American Inn of Court.
